13 Reasons to Use Cloth Diapers in 2013

Well, 2013 is off to a great start and we, here at SmartBaby, hope that you and your little one are enjoying the first month of the year, all snuggly and warm.   Since January is also the perfect time to make changes, take steps to improve your life and get started on that plan, we thought it would be perfect to share with you 13 amazing reasons to use cloth diapers in 2013.   If you’re already using cloth diapers, it will be a great reminder as to why they rock and if you don’t, you’ll find out why you need to make the switch NOW.   So, without much ado, here are 13 reasons to cloth diaper in 2013:

1. Cloth Diapers Save Money

That’s right. Simply by being reusable, the initial investment in cloth diapers pays for itself since your little one can literally use them for months, and months to come. No buying additional diaper packs or sizes! Think about the savings!

2. Cloth Diapers are Reusable

Cloth diapers are reusable and not only can you keep using the same diapers for baby until he grows to the next stage, but you can also keep the smaller diapers, should you decide to have another baby.

3. Cloth Diapers are Eco-Friendly

Made of cloth and reusable, cloth diapers don’t end up in landfills across the world. They are gentle for the planet and help you do your part in keeping the earth healthy as well.

4.Cloth Diapers are Gentle for Baby

Something that is good for the Earth has got to be good for your baby. With cloth diapers, you’re keeping harsh chemicals away from your baby’s bottom and giving him the softest, gentlest comfort possible. Not only that, bumGenius, Flip and Econobum cloth diapers have snaps or hook and loop closures as well as encased soft elastic to give baby the greatest comfort.

5. Cloth Diapers are Easy-to-Use

Contrary to popular belief, cloth diapers are super-easy to use. In fact, they’re just as easy as disposable diapers. With the bumGenius all-in-one-, one-size cloth diaper you will find cloth diapering easier than ever.

6. Cloth Diapers are Great Gift Ideas

That’s right. If you have a baby in the family, gift them a set of cloth diapers. They will thank you forever. Not only is it a gift that lasts, it is one that keeps the new baby safe and comfortable.

7. Cloth Diapers are Perfect for Travel

Again, while many may disagree, we’ve shared on the blog earlier about how cloth diapering is great during travel and can be really easy as well.

8. Cloth Diapers Make Potty Training Easier

Babies in disposable diapers never feel wet and don’t learn to identify their bodily cues for toilet training. With cloth diapers, you don’t have that disadvantage. Here is our post on how cloth diapering makes potty training easy.

9. Cloth Diapers Reduce Rashes

Free of harsh chemicals and with regular changes, cloth diapers are an effective way to keep that horrid diaper rash away.

10. Cloth Diapers are Colorful and Cute

Have you seen how adorable our bumGenius cloth diapers are? In bright colors and beautiful prints, your baby can wear a t-shirt and a bumGenius and be dressed!

11. Cloth Diapers Fit Babies Perfectly

Our cloth diapers give baby the perfect fit because they have a 3x3 snap down design which adjusts the fitting to suit baby’s size perfectly.

12. Cloth Diapers are Machine Washable

Owning cloth diapers is not extra work at all. All you have to do is toss the soiled diapers and inserts into the wet bag and then, empty the wet bag into the washing machine and let it do the work for you. Simple.

13. Cloth Diapers Make Your Baby Happy

Finally, and most importantly, cloth diapers will keep your baby happy. Free of rashes, comfortable and snug, your little one will have a ball crawling, kicking, playing and being adorably happy.. all the time. Are you ready to use cloth diapers in 2013? Newborn Diapering: Why Choose a Newborn Cloth Diaper Instead a One-Size

A newborn baby is a little bundle of delight. But that’s the thing. They are so little. Newborns can weigh from under 3 kgs to a little over 5 kgs. That makes them delightfully small but also a challenge to diaper. While cloth diapers are infinitely safer and easier to use on newborns, chances are you’re wondering whether you need newborn cloth diapers or one-size diapers will fit the bill.   Well, here are 7 reasons to choose a newborn diaper for your little bundle of joy:

  • The Best Fit

Newborn cloth diapers are best suited for small babies and offer the best and most comfortable fit.

  • Sized Small

Newborn cloth diapers are sized small and may also fit your preemie or low birthweight baby easily.

  • Reuse With Ease

Newborn diapers can be reused later if you’re planning additional babies.

  • All-In-One Diapers

The bumGenius newborn cloth diapers are all-in-one diapers that make cloth diapering easy and stress-free. No stuffing, diaper cover or folding needed.

  • Soft, Gentle Fit

The stretchy tabs, hook and loop closures ensure that baby has a perfect fit each time. Plus the leg and back casings are so gentle that they wouldn’t chafe baby’s sensitive skin.

  • Super-Absorbent

bumGenius newborn diapers have soakers that are made of exclusive Cotton Babies terry which means that not only are they super-absorbent but are also quick to dry, keeping baby comfy and rash-free.

  • Just Right for Newborn Weight

bumGenius newborn diapers fit babies weighing under 3 kgs to 6 kgs and fit below the navel, keeping the umbilical stump dry. So, are you ready to start using newborn diapers for your little one? Want to know more?

Here’s a customer review describing how cost-effective and cute these newborn diapers are:

Manidipa Mandal Date Added: 12/15/2012 Love the cute, trim size and happy colours --- I got Sassy (dark bright orange) and Dazzle (purple) for my baby. Just got a couple because they aren't the cheapest solution for a newborn --- I'm not yet sure how long they'll work (hoping about a couple of months, after which the one-size diapers should fit? or will the absorption of this be outgrown before the size is?). But NO CONTEST vs using tons of disposables in the early poopy days -- it makes one sick to see so much waste, no pun intended! In fact, I'd buy a dozen if I planned to have more children --- since they won't be used for long and the quality looks great, I'm betting you could use these for two or three children, which would then make the cost far more economical.
