How can we help our babies celebrate Diwali safely?

Diwali is just around the corner and with celebrations all around, what could scare a Mom more than an unfortunate accident or burns during the celebrations. While you go on celebrating with all vigor, it’s essentially important to take it easy on the young ones. We have framed a few key points that would help all Moms and their kids celebrate together in safety.

Never leave your baby alone or unattended, as the baby may tend to swallow any decorative material or get hurt from the fireworks or even candles and diyas. Place all such items beyond the baby’s reach for precaution.

We have our everyday routines that come to a halt in festivities, but it’s no different for the babies, they are yet to figure it out. So let’s not break their routines of food, hygiene and play time. So take a break, and spend time with your little one.

Most important part is to wear a right kind of clothing and choose the right thing for your babies. Stick to cotton is what we suggest. Though most parents love to dress their babies in fancy outfits, take special precautions that the clothes like chunri, lehnga, long kurtis et car all tagged up not to swirl on diyas and candles.

Keep all the crackers and fireworks to an area where little ones can enjoy the scene and not get hurt. Select the fireworks beforehand, the ones that don’t get too loud or dangerous for the babies.

Do not feed your baby anything that might not be hygienic or up to the standards. It's great to stick to dry fruits if nothing else is available.

Protect your babies from sudden and loud noises, bright lighting fireworks and fire, as even a mild exposure could damage the little one’s sensory organs.

Always keep a bucket of water, a blanket and suggested medications for home use to counter any mild burns.

Keep all these simple tips in mind and celebrate a safe and joyful Diwali with your kids and family. From Smart Baby we want to wish you a very Happy Diwali and my you enjoy all your celebrations!
